A Radio Suffolk presenter was 'so gassed' when he received a £150 donation from former England footballer and TV presenter, Jermaine Jenas.
Connor Bennett, a journalist and presenter at BBC Radio Suffolk, is undertaking this year's Movember, a moustache-growing charity challenge throughout November.
While speaking to Jermaine Jenas on the Wayne Bavin Show, the presenters and Match Of The Day pundit were joking about growing poor facial hair.
Mr Bennett said: "I am clearly an expert in bad facial hair, and so Jermaine said he'd back me if I sent him a picture on Instagram of it.
"He replied and I checked my page, and was gobsmacked to see he had not only donated and stuck to his word but had donated so much.
"£150 is by far the biggest donation I've had to date and I am so unbelievably grateful.
"As a lifelong Arsenal fan, I have to say, it's slightly altered my opinion on Spurs."
The 25-year-old from Framlingham, who now lives in Ipswich, is taking part in Movember for the fourth time and has so far raised £6490, with £845 raised this year in just three days.
He continued: "I have been a 'Mo Bro' since 2019 and I started in the weeks following the sudden death of my stepfather Kev.
"I wanted to raise money for men's health and encourage men to get regular health checks, as we are pretty bad at that.
"Since then, I have coupled it with men's mental health.
"We as men are terrible at talking about our issues, appearing vulnerable and I just think that is so wrong.
"Suicide is so common in men and I hate that."
Jermaine Jenas has spoken openly in the past about his struggles with Imposter Syndrome when he was on international duty with England.
Connor added: "He was exceptional on the show.
"He spoke so honestly about his own struggles as a high-end professional.
"After such a genuine interview on the show, I am not surprised he donated.
"He is a proper down to earth guy and is trying to raise awareness for a great cause.
"As the youth would say, I'm so gassed."
