Ipswich’s favourite resident owl is back for the new year, as Mabel has been spotted once again in Christchurch Park.
The park’s feathery friend is renowned among local residents for making regular appearances during daylight hours.
The traditionally nocturnal bird lives in a hollow in one of the park’s trees, and was named by staff from Christchurch Park.
In 2012, the photographic bird made headlines when she showed off a new addition to her family with a baby owlet, which also became a popular attraction at that year’s Historic Car Run from Christchurch Park to Felixstowe.
Now in 2015, Mabel is still just as happy to be out and about in the daytime.
