A man and a woman have been taken to hospital following a serious collision in Ipswich this morning.
Police were called to Felixstowe Road in Ipswich on Tuesday morning following reports of a road traffic collision.
The incident happened near the junction with Bridge Road.
The two cars involved are believed to be a Vauxhall Corsa and a Hyundai.
A spokesman for Suffolk police said that collision was believed to be serious but later confirmed that the injuries to those involved were not thought to be life changing or life threatening at this time.
Fire crews were also called to the scene.
A spokesman for the East of England ambulance service said: “Two ambulances and a rapid response vehicle attended a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on Felixstowe Road this morning.
“The patients from the vehicles were transported to Ipswich Hospital for assessment and treatment.”
The road was closed for much of the morning but reopened shortly after 12.30pm.
