Questionnaires were being handed out to visitors to the town hall display and feedback from them would be used to help plan future changes to Hadleigh's traffic management.

Town, district and county councillor David Grutchfield, who is also chairman of the traffic management working party, said at times 9,500 vehicles have been clocked using the main approach road to the town near Wolves Wood and this volume needed serious consideration.

This is all part of Hadleigh's five-year local action plan.

Mr Grutchfield said: "We have involved schools, groups and other organisations who use Hadleigh facilities to base our exhibition. We are involving all these people and we expect parties from schools from Hadleigh and the surrounding area among the people coming today."

There has been concern about changes to parking restrictions and facilities in the town. The exhibition will also feature the parking schemes, both new and changes to existing facilities.

Mr Grutchfield said routes to school – as well as providing facilities for disabled visitors to the town, pedestrian improvements in Magdalen Road and Threadneedle Street, on-street parking, traffic calming and one-way schemes in Pykenham Way and other recent improvements – are also included.
