A MAJOR Suffolk road will be closed while a crane is used to remove a lorry involved in an accident today .
The accident happened on the A14 just before the Copdock roundabout in the Felixstowe direction when the lorry left the road, turned over and ploughed down an embankment shortly after 11am.
The A14 will be closed at around 1am tomorrow morning while a crane lifts the lorry and during this time diversions will be put in place between Sproughton and Copdock.
The one lane which was closed following the incident is now open again but police are advising motorists that a lane will be closed at 8.30pm due to pre-planned maintenance.
A police spokeswoman said: “The decision to leave the lorry in the embankment over night was to minimise disruption to motorists on the A14.”
