DEREK CHILVERS (Reverend) Called home to be with Christ, which is far better, on 12th October, 2023. Born in Ipswich, he lived in Kesgrave for sixty-nine years, largely in Bell Lane and worked both as a Dental Technician and Baptist Minister (first at Rushmere Baptist Church and then at Witnesham). He was a gifted Pastor with an extraordinary ability to get on with people in all walks of life. He leaves two children, Judith Eley and Edwin Chilvers, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, all of whom were deeply loved. The burial will take place in the extension to the Kesgrave Parish Churchyard on Friday 17th November at 1.30 p.m. This will be followed by a Thanksgiving Service at Kesgrave Baptist Church, Cambridge Road on the same day at 2.30 p.m. All are most welcome to attend. "For me to live is Christ, to die is gain"Tributes
