Firefighters spent six hours providing assistance in removing a sex toy from a man’s reproductive organ.
Two fire crews took on the delicate task of helping to remove the offending item at Ipswich Hospital in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Firefighters from Ipswich East station were called to the accident and emergency department at 12.35am.
Four hours later, at about 4.15am, they called for assistance from colleagues at Princes Street station.
Having successfully extricated the ‘ring’ from its entanglement, both crews returned to their respective station by about 6.40am.
A spokesman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said: “Fire crews were called for assistance by the East of England Ambulance Service.
“They attended Ipswich Hospital in the early hours of Saturday morning and removed a large ring from the base of a man’s penis.”
It is not known if the patient required any further medical assistance.
