A man has been arrested after a flat fire in Ipswich.
Emergency services were called to the blaze in Finchley Road at about 9.20pm on Monday.
A spokesman for Suffolk police has since confirmed that a man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker and is expected to be interviewed today.
A man in his 50s and woman in her 20s had to be rescued from the flat and were treated for smoke inhalation.
Two crews from Ipswich East and one from Needham Market attended and four firefighters in breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet were used.
The fire service called a stop call at about 10.20pm.
