Social media footage shows how people living in an Ipswich road were woken by the bright flames of a car fire.

Emergency services were called to Malcolm Road, in south east Ipswich, at around 2.11am on Friday, July 26 to reports of a blaze coming from a car.

Footage on social media shows the car well ablaze as a resident watches from their window.

A crew from Ipswich East fire station attended the scene and the blaze was put out by 02:56am. 

It is said that a police forensics team was seen inspecting the burnt out car later in the day.

Police have been contacted for further information.
