A lane was closed on the A14 outside of Ipswich due to a car fire.
A spokesman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said a car was "well alight" in the layby on the A14 eastbound between Copdock and Wherstead on Monday morning.
Calls of a car on fire were received just after 11.30 am.
Two fire engines from Ipswich East and Princes Street stations tackled the blaze using hose reel jets and breathing apparatus.
A stop time for the fire was called just before 12.30pm.
Suffolk police has confirmed the lane has reopened and traffic has cleared.
