A two vehicle crash on the A14 near Copdock caused queues to the Orwell Bridge.
Police were called just after 11.30am to reports of the collision on the westbound A14 between junctions 56 at Wherstead and junction 55 at Copdock.
A police spokeswoman said one person was injured, although their injuries were not believed to be serious.
The ambulance service was also called to the scene, along with firefighters from Ipswich East and Princes Street stations.
One lane was blocked while emergency services dealt with the crash.
